USSPG Chair, Athena Brindle Cannon, PharmD, and Board Member at Large, Jessica Beal-Stahl, PharmD, participated in a panel discussing the Emerging Role of the Sports Pharmacist at the Sports Pharmacy Summit hosted by the Sports Pharmacy Network in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Dr. Cannon highlighted the growth of sports pharmacy in the last nine years, acknowledged past and present contributions of pharmacists across the world, and shared details of her journey in founding the USSPG and consulting with Drug Free Sport International. Dr. Beal-Stahl described her experience as a professional athlete in Olympic Weightlifting, shared highlights about her current role working directly with high school and college athletes, and emphasized her passion in specializing in the female athlete’s health.
