Member Spotlight - Alesia Yanowich, Pre-PharmD Student and Boulder Student Assistant to ATCs

Alesia Yanowich is a USSPG pre-pharmacy student member, pre-pharmacy student at University of Colorado, Boulder, and Student Assistance to Athletic Trainers. Peyton Anderson, Board Student Member at Large reached out to Alesia to learn more about her personal journey working in sport and desire to pursue sports pharmacy.

Peyton: “What has been your favorite experience in Sports Pharmacy?”

Alesia: Collaborating with athletic trainers at my university. This role has allowed me to see the dynamic interaction between pharmacy and athletic training, as we work together to enhance athletes’ performance and recovery through effective medication management.

Peyton: “What do you think is the most important way pharmacists can impact sports medicine?”

Alesia:Focusing on individualized medication management. By tailoring treatment plans to meet each athlete's specific needs, pharmacists can help ensure safety and effectiveness, ultimately supporting their health and performance.

Peyton: “What made you want to join the USSPG?”

Alesia: To connect with other passionate professionals in the field and to stay updated on the latest developments in sports pharmacy. Being part of this community allows me to grow my knowledge as a student and contribute to improving athlete health

We are thankful for all of the ways Alesia has positively impacted the athletes she has worked with and her desire to contribute nationally through the USSPG.
