Member Spotlight - Clement Lachat, PharmD Candidate, Swim Coach, and USSPG Taskforce Member

ARCHIVED from 12/2025

Clement Lachat is a PharmD Candidate at Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine, Swim Coach, and USSPG Define Sports Pharmacy Taskforce member. Clement talks with Peyton Anderson, Board Student Member at Large and shares his favorite experience in sports pharmacy, one way he hopes to impact sports medicine and why he joined the USSPG.

Peyton: “What has been your favorite experience in Sports Pharmacy?”

Clement: “Helping young athletes (especially kids) manage their asthma medications. It’s always a fun challenge to guide them through what they can and can’t use, Believe it or not, organizations like USA Swimming have pretty strict rules even for 11-14-year-olds!”

Peyton: “What do you think is the most important way pharmacists can impact sports medicine?”

Clement: “If I had to narrow it down to one thing, it would be educating athletes and coaches to ensure safe and effective medication management. This guidance helps athletes perform at their best while staying within the rules and maintaining their well-being.”

Peyton: “What made you want to join the USSPG?”

Clement: “To discover more about the world of sports pharmacy and connect with others with similar aspirations and goals. It’s a great opportunity to learn from like-minded professionals, expand my knowledge, and contribute to the growing field of sports pharmacy.”

Thanks to student pharmacists like Catherine Cara, sports pharmacy will continue to grow amongst the profession and positively impact the national landscape.

Clement continues to dedicate his time and leadership skills to the work of the USSPG and we are excited to support his journey through sports pharmacy.
